Starting the second hour, Darren Dreger stops by as the ‘Pro Am Sports Big Guest of the Day’ to share his thoughts on the Oilers’ 1-0 win over the Kings. Dreger highlights the play of Stuart Skinner and how the LA Kings were able to shut down the Oilers… for the most part. Dreger takes a look at the dominance of the Oilers’ powerplay. He takes a broader look at the officiating during the game and how the refs let both teams play. After he wraps up with the Oilers talk, Dregs moves in the Nashville, Vancouver series and how the Canucks got lucky in game 4. Dreger thinks Nashville can still push 7 games with their elite defence and goaltending.
Speaking of goaltending, LtE asked Dreger about his thoughts about the Jets and Avalanche series chopping up the poor play of Connor Hellebuyck.
Of course, he has to talk about the Maple Leafs as well where he breaks down the fact that Nylander and Marner are being chewed out even though Nylander has as many points as Austin Matthews. He praises how the Bruins have played this entire season and how they’ve translated it into playoff success. The team looks completely different than before and they’ve been winning.
After Dreger leaves, Dustin Nielson lays down ‘The Coolbet Hotline of the Day’ where he goes to the NHL to make his pick of the Florida Panthers winning against the Tampa Bay Lightning later tonight.
